Making runners fit snugly in miter slots

The runners on my table saw sled were made of Birch ply.  Over years they have loosened a little.  Here is an attempt to make them fit snugly.

The idea is to slit the runners (green line below) and drive a screw in the slit.  This makes the runners expand and fit snugly in the slot.

Hope this helps in some way!

Incra 1000HD on Makita MLT100

This is one of my biggest blunders in the recent times.  I bought Incra 1000HD for my Makita only to realize the miter runner is incompatible.  Incra fits in channels 3/4x3/8 but MLT100 has 1/2" width slot.

So the easiest option is to use a 3/4 ply as base and make compatible slots for Incra.  Here is how I did it.

I see no need to keep the new one with the current cross cut sledge and it also saves space in
my home shop.  So, incorporated cross cut sledge in the new base.
